Self sabotage

Your mindset starts with the physical. I don’t say this lightly, but it’s ‘easier’ to make shifts, by shifting your surroundings. ⁣

I have no routine as I work from home, freelance, my day is set out however I like. I can have a lie in every single day if I want, eat whatever I want when I want and work late into the night if I can’t sleep. But it’s when I am doing all of this that my old friend depression creeps back in. ⁣

I was sat in my car earlier this week looking out on the rain, feeling low, sat with my mood. I had been for a walk but on a treadmill rather than outdoors, and half heartedly at that so no wonder it hadn’t lifted my spirits! Then I asked myself whether I am prepared to let this take over my whole day, and being so early in the week, probably the whole week if I let it, then the month and before I know it I’ve lost whole gaps of time. ⁣

Your feelings create your reality, and I don’t want to live in a reality where I don’t pay attention to these feelings and act on them. I have goals and dreams, and this version of me is only putting them on hold. ⁣

I bought ingredients for a wholesome dinner and a smoothie then went home and worked on my bigger picture. I tidied the house, I wrote down my goals (again) and watched some youtube content around things I want to learn. ⁣

I wrote down the things I know I need to do in order to be truly productive, rather than going through the motions day in, day out, so I’ve set a daily alarm for 6:30 and I have my trainers by the door to get out for that walk – in the air! Rain or shine… ⁣
